ReThink Daylight heads back to Archiproducts Milano, for a workshop on how to use sunlight while designing a space
On June 18th – 19th, Velux and Archiproducts launched the first of the ReThink Daylight workshops, a two-days meeting reserved to a small group of Architects who believe in the power and value of sunlight in Architecture.

No computers nor devices. Architects will only use their hand to design their project, building models to be tested with a natural light simulator. An “artificial sun” which allows to experiment new ways of conceiving a space, improving the quality of the life of its inhabitants.
Participants are invited to bring a project to work on during the workshop, for discussing it with the group supported by two experienced tutors.
The program is divided into two days of training, which will grant the participants 12 professional training credits recognized by CNAPPC.
FIRST SESSION
Experimental Case Study

Each participant will be provided with the material needed for developing the project (paperboard, glue…) and an artificial sky in which they will simulate the effect of natural light.

Presentation and debate of each individual project.

SECOND SESSION
Planning natural daylight in the standard building industry
– 14:00 Summary
Recap of the first session and the new competences acquired.
– 14:30 Natural light and regulations
Natural light, illuminating engineering sizes and regulations.
– 15:30 Definition of an objective
How to define a natural light objective within different kind of buildings: residential, school, productive or commercial.
– 16:00 Individual exercise on a real case brought by each participant
Each participant will be provided with the material needed for developing the project (paperboard, glue…) and an artificial sky in which they will simulate the effect of natural light.
– 18:30 Projects presentation
Presentation in plenary session of some relevant projects.
– 20:00 Closing
